Pianists Minjung Seo & Po-Chuan Chiang

Duo SNC, pianists Minjung Seo and Po-Chuan Chiang's recent project, "Rendezvous in the Orient" has performed at Western Illinois University and Moody Concert Hall in season 2021.

The program features Korean and Chinese composers' piano duo music. The program is filled with traditional Chinese and Korean folk tunes in modern classical musical style reflecting both traditional and contemporary musical sound in China and Korea.

Pianist Minjung Seo, a native of South Korea, currently serves a Lecturer in Accompanying at Auburn University, and has performed in Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Bowdoin Music Festival, Aspen Festival, and Banff Center in Canada. Seo received her doctorate in accompanying from University of North Carolinaat Greensboro with Andrew Harley, a master’s degree in collaborative pianofrom the Juilliard School with Margo Garrett and Jonathan Feldman, aPerformer’s Diploma from Indiana University with Shigeo Neriki, and abachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Yonsei University with Bang-sook Lee in Korea. She is currently a Lecturer of Accompanying at Auburn University, Alabama.Previously she served as a music faculty at Western Illinois University,Macomb, IL, Bennett College in Greensboro, NC, and University of NorthCarolina School of the Arts (UNCSA).

Pianist Po-Chuan Chiang, a native of Taiwan, currently serves as the accompanist coordinator at Western Illinois University and has worked in national and international festivals and venues such as Scuola Italia in Sant’Angelo, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Blue Lake Fin Arts Camp, and Carnegie Hall. Chiang holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano performance from the TainanNational University of the Arts in Taiwan. In 2009, he received a Masters of MusicDegree in piano performance at the Boston Conservatory of Music where he was hiredas a staff accompanist at the same year after he graduated. In 2017, he earned a Doctorof Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance under Dr. Ian Hobson at the University ofIllinois at Urbana-Champaign.
