Yiqi Guo
Composer
Yiqi Guo is a Chinese-born composer currently based in New York Metropolitan Area, whose work spans concert music, film scoring, and game audio. Deeply drawn to aesthetics and cultural storytelling, Yiqi is particularly passionate about transforming ancient Eastern elements into vivid musical landscapes, creating immersive experiences that invite audiences to explore the fusion of tradition and innovation.
His compositions have been performed across North America, Europe, and Asia. In 2024, he was commissioned by the València International Performance Academy & Festival to write the string quartet “Thiú-kak”, which premiered in Spain, performed by the acclaimed Mivos Quartet. Most recently, he performed his solo piano work “SONG Yùn” at Lincoln Center's Bruno Walter Auditorium as part of the New York Artists Guild Competition Winners Recital.
Yiqi earned his Bachelor of Music in Composition, graduating summa cum laude from the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University, Long Beach, and recently completed his Master of Music in Composition at the Mannes School of Music, where he studied with the renowned composer Lowell Liebermann.
